Original title: Do Céu ao Inferno – O caso Herberts Cukurs (Portuguese) . Scripted audio documentary series co-created by Maria Claudia Oliveira, Patricia Hargreaves, and Guilherme Rainer. From Heaven to Hell explores the controversial life of Latvian WWII aviator and Nazi collaborator Herberts Cukurs, who moved to Brazil after the end of the war. The series interweaves historical research with narrative storytelling to examine Cukurs’s role in the Holocaust and the postwar efforts to bring him to justice — including his assassination by Mossad in 1965, in Uruguay. The project reflects deep research into Nazism, postwar memory, neo-Nazism in Brazil, and archival investigation, presented through a richly produced, six-decade-long audio narrative.
